The maintainers of this blog, as much for the sake of their own skinned knees and bent rims as anyone else's, are hoping to produce an accurate list of potholes on local streets and provide updates on the condition of those potholes as reports come in.

BUT

Unless they, in their official capacity to carry out town government responsibility for road conditions and safety, explicitly state otherwise, no one represents that the various towns or their highway departments are in any way obligated to do anything about any hazard reported here. The veracity of any report of a hazard here should be regarded as subject to confirmation, i.e. these are reports of "alleged" hazards. This service will not work if its only inputs can come from registered, identified and known reliable sources. It has to be open to anyone who might encounter a pothole. As such, it is open to anyone at all and that could include persons who do not actually know exactly where they were when they saw a pothole. If used in good faith by all parties, this list can be helpful. Abuse would take away most of the value of the resource we want this to be.
